The Associate of Biblical Studies Program (ABSY) Description:
The Associate of Biblical Studies Program (ABSY) is designed to provide an introduction to the field of Bible study for the beginning seminary school student. The program is 63 credit hours in length and provides a Biblical foundation of study for all Christians, and especially for those desiring to better understand Biblical principles. Each student will be assigned a mentor to help him or her throughout this online Christian college program.
A total of 63 credit hours are required, with a minimum of 40 credit hours from Cohen Institute. A 2.5 GPA is required on a scale of 4.0. Each course is worth 3 semester hours.

CIBC 510 Between the Testaments (3chr)
This course is a study of the background for the New Testament’s Political and Cultural settings, defining how they impacted the New Testament peoples. It details the historical happenings between the Book of Malachi and Matthew. The main topics of the course include: A look at the lives of the twelve Disciples, the six periods of Jewish History, Greek and Roman political backgrounds and a maps and charts section.
CIBC 840 Yeshua the Jew (3chr)
This course will explore both Jewish and Christian portrayals of Jesus’ Jewishness, starting with the New Testament. Also, ancient Jewish concepts about Messiah and early Christian concepts will be discussed as well as denials of Jesus’ Jewishness.
CICJ 522 Paul’s Letter to the Bereans (3crh)
This course is a study of the Book of Hebrews, looking at the “Hall of Faith” and the role of Christ as Prophet, Priest, and King. It sheds light from a biblical, social and historical background. Some of the main topics of the course are: Revelation of the Son, Messiah greater than Moses, Jesus, our High Priest, and the example of Christ’s endurance.
CIHI 689 From Yeshuah to Jesus (3crh)
This course will introduce the student to Yeshua and the emerging of the first-century Church from a historical and cultural background. It will guide the student thru the meaning of certain symbols and terminology from proto-rabbinic Judaism.
CILI 505 Introduction to the Siddur (3chr)
This course introduces the student to the most important and basic blessings and prayers in the Siddur. The student will learn how to say and sing some of the most prominent prayers of the traditional Siddur (prayer-book).
CICJ 749 Ephesians and the Omer (3chr)
Learn how the book of Ephesians and the counting of the Omer between Passover and Pentecost are related.
CILI 675 Septeniel Torah Seder I (3crh)
This course introduces the student to the Torah reading portions on a 7-year plan as was used in the 1st century. The student will learn how to ask questions to answers given by Rashi.
CILI 777 The Mentions of Jesus (3 crh)
This course explores ancient sacred texts in which the name of Jesus was mentioned. This includes the Jewish writings, the Koran, The Indian text and various others. Here the student is introduced to the different perspectives of Jesus and his mission.
CITH 551 New Testament Church History (6 crh)
A study of Early New Testament history and its impact on modern civilization. This course is to be taught in 2 trimesters and is worth 6 credit hours.
