Maskil Program

Initiate Program

One may wonder, what is a Maskil?  The word Maskil is a Hebrew word that means Initiate.  In Christian terms this is the disciple.  We have chosen the Hebrew term because the Christian term has come to mean a very different thing than what a maskil really is.  However, the portrayal in the Gospels is quite correct from its original meaning.  Let us consider Yeshua's choices of His maskilim.  But first, we must establish that Yeshua already knew the disciples.  This can easily be proven thru the Gospel of Luke, which is the only chronological gospel in the New Testament.  Yeshua is called to Peter's house when his mother is ill, which happened before the calling of the disciples.  This makes sense because no master teacher chooses a maskil without prior knowledge of the persons character and Torah knowledge.

Cohen Institute has decided to offer this process to all who desire to become a maskil, a true disciple of Yeshua.  You may have a few questions as to how this can happen.  I will try to give some basic instructions for this process.  It is impossible to declare all the intricacies of this process, nor should it be.

In order for a student of the Bible to apply for this process, the said student must be an established believer in HaShem (God). He or She should possess basic biblical knowledge and a desire to become a lifelong maskil.  Once that decision has been made, he/she can then submit an application (available below) for consideration.  If this application is accepted a zoom meeting will be scheduled to get to know the prospect.  In this live meeting the whole process will be explained and the prospect will have some time to make his/her decision.  Now its up to the applicant to decide if he/she wants to proceed in the process. Once the decision is made, the prcess will begin.  Each maskil will receive a tailor-made course of study and personal interaction with the Master teacher.

Some things that you can expect:

  • weekly personal meeting via zoom or in person
  • mentorship and tutoring if necessary
  • custom made lessons
  • interaction with other maskil students and graduates
  • advancement into higher areas of study and applications
  • various levels of graduation

How much does this process cost?

While a maskil is expected to honor his/her teacher, there are no fees for the process itself.

What is the final result of this program?

The final result of this program is to become a Master teacher and begin to disciple others.  However, it must be noted that this is not a 6-week course on how to become a disciple, the length of time it requires depends on the individual person and their ability to learn, receive, committ and provide transferrance to others.  Wisdom takes time to develop.
